Sperm and Egg

Step-By-Step Instructions:
1. Open a new document in Photoshop. Set the width/height to 400x400px. Make sure the canvas background is black.
2. Create a new layer. Name it "Egg".
3. Select the Eliptical Marquee tool. Holding down the Shift key, draw a large circle selection to represent the egg.
4. Use the Paint Bucket tool to fill the selection with white.

5. Select the Move tool. Move the "Egg" to the bottom left corner of the canvas.

6. Right click the "Egg" layer from the layers palette. Choose "Blending Options" from the pop-up list.
7. Set the properties for "Outer Glow" to the following:

8. Click OK to accept the changes to the Blending Options.

9. Create a new layer. Name it "Sperm".
10. Select the Eliptical Marquee tool. Hold down the Shift key, draw a small circle selection for the sperm head.

11. Goto Filter > Liquify.
12. Using a smaller brush size, push out the top right side of the sperm circle to create a tail.

13. You may need to manipulate the tail using the brush to create a wiggling tail.

14. Click OK to accept changes to Liquify.

15. Right click the "Sperm" layer from the layers palette. Choose "Blending Options" from the pop-up list.
16. Set the properties for "Outer Glow" to the following:

17. Set the properties for "Inner Glow" to the following:

18. Set the properties for "Color Overlay" to the following:

19. Click OK to accept changes to Blending Options.
20. You should now have your Sperm and Egg illustration.
