Sunglasses Reflection

Summary:
Changing the reflection on a person's sunglasses can provide you with a lot of creative ideas. Personally, I like to do it as a joke on my friends. For example, I will have the reflection of something that would embaress them, like a reflection of them at an Backstreet Boys or N'Sync concert or something.

Step-By-Step Instructions:
1. Open a photograph of a person that has sunglasses.

2. Select the Paint Brush tool.
3. Hold down the ALT key, the brush will turn into the Eyedropper tool. Click to select the darkest part of the sunglasses so that it is your selected color.
4. Let go of the ALT key and begin painting over the existing reflection.

5. Paint everywhere so that both lenses are completely painted over and black.

6. Open the photograph that you want as the reflection.

7. Click Ctrl+A to select the entire photograph.
8. Click Ctrl+C to copy the entire photograph.
9. Goto the Sunglasses photo and click Ctrl+V to paste the reflection photograph onto a new layer over the sunglasses layer.
10. Click the Eye icon next to the Reflection photo layer so that it is hidden.
11. Click the Sunglasses photo layer so that it is active.
12. Select the Brush tool. Make sure the foreground color is black.
13. Now click the "Edit in Quick Mask Mode" toggle button in the toolbar.
14. Begin painting over the sunglasses. When you paint in Quick Mask Mode, the paint is a transparent red.

15. When you are done, both glass lenses should be completely covered in red. You may need to switch to a smaller brush size to get in hard to reach, detailed areas of the lenses.

16. Click the "Edit in Standard Mode" toggle button in the toolbar.
17. You should now have a selected area over everything except the lenses of the glasses.

18. Click the Eye icon next to the Reflection photo layer so that it is visible again.
19. Click the Reflection photo layer so that it is the active layer.
20. Goto Select > Inverse. Now the lenses should be the only selected area.

22. Goto Filter > Distort > Spherize. Watch the preview screen as you adjust the slider. When you are happy with the amount of distortion, then click OK.

23. Now goto Select > Inverse. Everything, but the lenses should now be selected.
24. Click the Delete key.

25. In the layers palette, lower the opacity so that the reflection photo doesn't stand out so much.
26. You are done, you should now have your new sunglasses reflection.

(Optional: Have fun with this. Be creative with the photos. Remember, whatever the reflection is, that is what the person is looking at. So you can make it look like the person is in different settings. Eg. Talking to a pretty woman, talking to a police officer, etc.)
